Statistics indicate that in the near future, one in every 100 college applicants will have some form of autism. These are exciting times, as many of our young adults are ready to take the next step in learning, by going to college. But are colleges ready for them? The folks at Rochester Institute of Technology, in conjunction with other up and coming higher learning institutes, and funded by the Autism Speaks Family Services Community Grant, have prepared a manual to help colleges and universities, prepare to receive this community of individuals, and help them succeed. No schools ready for autism individuals, in your area? Tell them about this manual! The best part is that it is FREE! You may read more about finding an autism-friendly college, in the June 2015 issue of the MAR, in our archives.
